MMI Engineered Solutions, a manufacturing facility in Saline, specializes in the design and production of plastic injection molded materials. MMI and Skill and Ability Education have partnered for employment related services since 2020. These have mainly included individualized and small group work experiences in which participants have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience either on the MMI production floor or in their assembly warehouse. Occasionally, these work experiences have later transitioned into part-time, permanent employment with MMI. Skill and Ability has also successfully placed several clients in competitive, integrated employment through job placement services, both part-time and full-time at MMI, in production, assembly and their janitorial departments.

Since forming their partnership, MMI Engineered Solutions has been accommodating and inclusive of client needs. Prior to starting each service, MMI has been attentive to client needs by asking about their interests, strengths, scheduling preferences and any potential accommodations which may be helpful to their success at work. MMI has also created an accommodated safety training and onboarding process for Skill and Ability clients to support a smooth transition into work as they start their work experiences at MMI.
