Program Manager: Lauren Nowatzki

Lauren

Lauren started at Skill & Ability as a contingent vocational coach for the Summer of 2024 and has since rejoined the team as the Program Manager for Job Retention Services. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Pre-Health Studies from the University of Idaho. Lauren then graduated from the University of Michigan where she achieved her Master of Social Work degree with a focus on the Welfare of Children and Families and Policy and Political Social Work.

Lauren has worked with individuals with disabilities since early 2019. She consistently utilizes a person-first approach, where she focuses on an individual’s humanity by meeting clients where they are at and utilizing their strengths to support independence and success in all aspects of life. At Skill & Ability, Lauren has continued to collaborate with clients to find strategies that work for them to promote self-determination.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys cooking new recipes, spending time with her partner, family, friends, and cat, Mushka. She also enjoys time outside hiking in nature, traveling to new places, and seeing all of the beauty the world has to offer.

"In my work, I always try to connect with the client and understand who they are and what goals they want to achieve. Through this, I am able to advocate with clients, ensuring their voice is heard and their message is shared. I want everyone I work with to feel empowered in their life."
